This occurs when you have three Driving While License Suspended charges on your record convicted or not within a 5 year period. 2. It can also occur if you have two DUI convictions within a  5 year period. It also occurs if you are convicted for DUI and then also have two Driving While License Suspended charges on your record, convicted or not within a 5 year period. You are not eligible for a hardship license until 1 year into the 5 year suspension period. If stopped and charged again for DWLS it will be a felony and that can carry up to 5 years in jail.
